Sandra Coombes, B commerce, Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development, Diploma in Business Coaching
Sandra is a commercial human resource management, training and development consultant and coach, with a broad range of expertise gained across many industry sectors. Sandra has particular expertise in Organizational Development, Training & Development, Performance Management Labour Law and Reward Management.
Before setting up Coombes HRM, Sandra held various Human Resource Management positions in Lotus Development (IBM), EMC, Graphite HRM and Marks & Spencer Plc at management level in the UK and Ireland. Within these roles she led Employee Opinion Surveys, the redesign, implemetation and training of performance management systems and many positive Employee Relations interventions.
A particularly worthwhile experience in Lotus (IBM) was leading the world wide Lotus Development Performance Management development team. This is an area that Sandra has developed in her own business over the past six years. She has introduced and re designed performance management systems for both small and large companies. This starts with facilitating Senior Teams develop their Strategic plans.
While with Graphite HRM, Sandra was lead writer and project manager for the best seller guide – “Personnel Policies and Procedures” – The Law in Perspective. This was a first of its kind in Ireland. While with Graphite, she also delivered management development programmes to many multi nationals.
In 2009, as part of an overall business plan, Sandra has changed the name of the business from SC Consulting to Coombes HRM.
Sandra is/ has lectured and developed course material for HRM and Organisational Development subjects on the Business Studies Degree, the National Diploma in First Line Management and the Diploma in Payroll Management in the Cork Institute and with IPASS.
Sandra is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, has an Honours Commerce Degree majoring in Management and Marketing from University College Cork, a Higher National Diploma in Human Resource Management from the National College of Ireland in Dublin and a Diploma in Business and Management Coaching from the International Coaching and Training Institute.
